The Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Pla de Bages has described the 2011 harvest and EXCELLENT and all the wines presented by VINS GRAU have been qualified. Definitely this year the quality of the wine is EXCELLENT in white and rosé and the red wine special for crianza and reserva.

The new wines of the harvest 2011 will sale starting 15/03/2012 aproximatelly and with the novelty that this year will bring a new presentation.

The 4,5 and 6 of November celebrated the FIRA CATAVINS 2011 in Sabadell. VINS GRAU was present with an stand where a lot of people walked to taste our wines JAUME GRAU, having a good reception.

At the fair was celebrated the 1st Concurs Catavins where VINS GRAU obtained a silver medal with our red wine JAUME GRAU "GRATUS CRIANÇA 2006".

On the first days of the moth of june we had a visit from our importer-distribuitor from Laponia (Finland). They could attest on the visit to the vineyard the provable good harvest, the vineyards are in excelent sanitary state and with abundant fruit and if we have good weather this could be a good year in both quality and quantity.

The visit continued on the cellar finishing in the tasting room when they tasted the new references, taht by the way, were of hs liking, above all the reference JAUME GRAU white "AVRUM"2010 and of course our white JAUME GRAU "PICAPOLL"2010, varietal wine and emblem of the DO Pla de Bages.

At the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2011 which took place in Luxembourg from 6 to May 8, 2011, a reference of red wine GRAU GRAU JAUME SPECIAL SELECTION 2010 has won a silver medal, being the third consecutive year that our company gets prizes at the afore mentioned competition.

JAUME GRAU SELECCIÓN ESPECIAL 2010, is a blend of four grape varieties: Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Franch and Syrah. Very nice wine, fresh and fruity with soft tannins persistence and with cherry tones. With good aftertaste, when we taste it we get one of those little moments of harmony that life gives us.

This wine will go on sale starting 15/09/2011 and will be priced with an excellent quality/price ratio.

At the XVI CONCURS DE VINS I CAVES DE CATALUNYA GIROVI 2011 which took place in Girona on 09/04/2011, VINS GRAU has been awarded with two medals to the wines that were presented to the competition: JAUME GRAU GRAU BLANC AVRVM 2010, which was awarded with a BRONCE MEDAL, and the wine JAUME GRAU GRAU ROSAT MERLOT 2010 which was awarded with a SILVER MEDAL.

Another more year these two references have been rewarded, two modern wines with a lot of quality and with a very good quality/price relationship. Don't have doubts asking for them at the restaurant or a especialized shop, it's sure that you'll repeat again.

Macari Pujadó, Vins Grau manager, has been interviewed by TV Manresa featuring the new wines from the 2010 harvest. The "Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Pla de Bages" has qualified the 2010 harvest as "VERY GOOD", good news for everyone without doubt.

VINS GRAU SL will participate at the wine fair PROWEIN 2011 which will take place in Dusseldorf (Germany) from the 27th to the 29th march 2011. All aour customers and resellers can meet us at the EXPORTIBERIA stand located in the palace number 6 stand B-37. At the fair will be presented the latest news and wines of the D.O. Pla de Bages JAUME GRAU GRAU, and our RED CAVA made of pinot noir brand JAUME GRAU.

In the 17th edition of the "CONCOURS MONDIAL DE BRUXELLES" at Palermo from the 23th to the 25th april 2010, our red wine JAUME GRAU GRAU "GRATUS-RESERVA 2004" has been awarded with the SILVER MEDAL. This award reafirms once more our work direction and goal of the company: "THE BEST QUALITY AT THE BEST PRICE". We hope that as well as the jury that brought us the award, our custumers will apreciate this reserva red wine.

In March the 8th we had a big snowfall, between 45 and 50 centímeters of snow. Althought the mobility problems of the first moments, this is a very good thing for the agriculture because the vineyard will have an important reserve of water for the summer. We hope that this will help us to have a good harvest so we can bring better wines that can compete with those in the best regions of the world.

Vins Grau won a Silver Medal at the "XV Concurso de Vinos y Cavas GIROVI 2010" with the wine JAUME GRAU GRAU ROSAT-MERLOT 2009. Once more this prize is the achievement of the effort of the Vins Grau team as a whole.

Vins Grau is selling a new cava: JAUME GRAU GRAU BRUT NATURE. CAVA made in the traditional way using free-run must from MACABEO, XAREL·LO and PARELLADA grapes, pale yellow in colour with greenish hues, fresh in the mouth and with hints of fresh, well-balanced and harmonious. Enjoy this wine between 6-8ºC. Ideal as an aperitif, with all types of fish and seafood and sweet desserts. Without doubts a good cava at a much better price.

In the new Guía de Vinos de Catalunya "TAST A CEGUES 2010" the wines presented under the brand JAUME GRAU (DO. Pla de Bages) had obtained a very good note, the white wine Jaume Grau AVRVM has obtained the best note with 8,99 over 10 points, as well as the wine Jaume Grau ROSAT-MERLOT with a best note of 8,80 over 10 points, the rest of references had also obtained a very good note.

Regarding to the wines presented under the Denominación Catalunya, the brand "CLOS DEL RECÒ" got a good note: 8,69 for the white wine, 8,76 for the rosé and 8,96 for the black one.

Also on the guide GUIA PEÑIN DE LOS VINOS DE ESPANA 2010, the references under our brand JAUME GRAU as well as the references of our brand CLOS DEL RECÒ, the note was very good, being the minimun note obtained of 84 points over a total of 100.

Without any doubts these are very good news, the result of a very well done work that helps us to get along in this hard times for the world economy to continue working in the quality of our wines and what is worth: the quality/price relation.

At the "CONCOURS MONDIAL DE BRUXELLES", one of the mos pretigious contests in the world, which took place from the 25th to the 27th of april, our red wine JAUME GRAU GRAU "GRATUS CRIANZA 2005" has won the GOLD MEDAL. This is the first international reward achieved by the Vins Grau team and without any doubt it's and excelent news that confirms our line of work and the objective of our company: THE BEST QUALITY AT THE BEST PRICE

The D.O. Pla de Bages presented its new wines in the comarch of Osona (Catalunya) at the "EL SERRAT DEL FIGARO" restaurant, property of the famous cooker NANDO JUBANY. The act was hosted by famous journalist Marcel Gorgori and a great number of restaurant owners, someliers and distributors of the comarch came to the act. The wines of our JAUME GRAU brand had a very good critique, so we hope we can make many clients in the comarch.

Arranged by the Chamber of Commerce of Manresa, the COPCA and the Pla de Bages D.O., our Cellar was visited the 20th and 21th April by a group of importers, someliers and especialited journalists from Germany, which were interested in our D.O. Pla de Bages. The visit could be very usefull since the first impressions and comments found our wines very good and still better the quality/price relation.

JAUME GRAU BLANC AVRVM 2008 has been awarded with an Argent Medal at the most prestigious prize in Spain, "CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE VINOS PREMIOS ZARCILLO 2009" wich took place in Valladolid on April 2009. We hope that as well as the jury, this wine will like everyone and that can be served in your best celebrations.

Vins Grau won a Bronze Medal at the "XIV Concurso de Vinos y Cavas GIROVI 2009" with the wine JAUME GRAU BLANC AVRVM 2008. Once more this prize is the achievement of the effort of the Vins Grau team as a whole.

VINS GRAU puts on sale for this Christmas season the new cavas JAUME GRAU I GRAU, a cava of quality elaborated with Macabeo, Xarel-lo and Perellada the BRUT, and with Pinot Noir, Trepat and Grenache the BRUT-ROSÉ. Fresh, fruty and exquisite cavas that without a doubt will be in the better tables to celebrate these days of Christmas.

A group from Finland has visited our cellar, combining a trip around our country with a route for different wineries. Vins Grau organized with them a meeting at restaurant "Can Serra de Rocafort" so they can taste the different wines of our cellar at the same time that they discovered the typical meals from our land.

We have redesigned the presentation of our new wines of DO Catalunya Clos del Recó and Clos Estrada and also the DO Pla de Bages Jaume Grau.

The committee of taste from the Consejo Regulador de la DO Pla de Bages, on a blind test due on the second week of march, choose by unanimity our wine JAUME GRAU AVRVM 2007 as the best white wine of 2007 raising.

Another more year, Vins Grau will be present at the Alimentaria 2008 Exibition in Barcelona from March 10th to 14th, where you can visit our booth located in Montjuïc, Pavilion 2, Level 0, Street 0, Booth 220

Vins Grau has appeared this year in the "Guía BMW 2008 de los mejores vinos y bodegas españolas" represented by the Jaume Grau Grau line. Between the list of awarded wines are included the new reserva wines Gratus and Sensus

VINS GRAU has obtained in the most prestiged contest of Spain "PREMIOS ZARCILLO 2007" the silver medal with the wine JAUME GRAU ROSADO-MERLOT 2006, this prize is the recognition to the hard work and the effort of all the human team of VINS GRAU, we hope that like the jury, this wine pleases to everybody and can be in the best celebrations.

Vins Grau was present, representing DO Pla de Bages in the first edition of "Wine Pleasures Workshop: Buyer meets Catalonian Celler" celebrated at the Parador Nacional de Cardona from 27th to 29th de March. There were present importers from all around the world interested in the wines of the differents DO from Catalunya.

Vins Grau was present at the second edition of Barcelona Degusta, Salón de la Alimentación para el Consumidor, that took place from 2th to 5th March at Fira de Barcelona. Inside the stand of the DO Pla de Bages we had the opportunity to show our new wines with great success.

The fairground "El Sucre" of Vic (Barcelona, Spain) was the scene of the ForumVic of this year, a new concept of fair in which the product has all the atention, with all a series of activities and acts related to gastronomy and where Vins Grau was presenting/displaying its products with great acceptance between the attending public.

Our company was in Belgium helped by de COPCA. There were very intensive days to let us know their wines as well as to show our products to the local importers around the country. There are very good expectations and it's for sure that we'll be selling soon in Benelux.

Vins Grau participated in some degustations from catalonian wine and cava producers arranged by the Demmark's COPCA. The event was done in the capital city where the principal importers around the country were present. The company also have some time to visit the importers in the region.

Vins Grau was present at the international fair ALIMENTARIA 2006 in Barcelona where we could meet many clients from Spain and other countries. The company presented new wines from the line Jaume Grau and Maians Vell with the Denomination of Origin Pla de Bages.

Vins Grau was present at Polagra Food 2005 (pavilion No.9). The fair took place in Poznan, Poland, (20 - 23 September, 2005). As many importers and distributors have showed interest in our wines, we hope to enter the Polish market soon.

Throughout June, Vins Grau kept contact with various importers of Hungary with the objective to be present in the Hungarian market by September. The visits realized in Budapest have been very positive so we have all hopes to be present in this country in a very short time.

Vins Grau was present at the Days of Spanish Food and Gastronomy in Prague and in Budapest 5th and 7th April. The events were aimed at professionals in the agri-food sector and were organized by FIAB in close collaboration with the Commercial Offices of Spain in the respective countries. Marketa Kucerova represented our company in Prague, while Ildikó Piroska Posztós did the same in Budapest.

In March 2005 different Spanish newspapers have dealt with the results of a study which proved that the moderate consumption of wine enhances cardiovascular life and reduces the amol cholesterol up to 96%. It is a potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, and as such it inhibits the first phases of arteriosclerosis.
